Friday Note - Revisited and Revised

About a year ago I did a post about my Friday Note. It ended up being a pretty popular little template and post.

This is the note I send home each week attached to the kiddos tests for the week. It includes their behavior for the week and notes about what it going on the following week and anything else that I need the parents to know about.

It looks like this:
Things have changed a bit. Color ink is at a premium at my school and I never print them at home because they are sort of a last-minute quick thing I do each Friday afternoon.

For some reason, I have been receiving a lot of emails about it recently. The one I had posted as a freebie said "First Grade" - several teachers asked for a generic version.

So, here it is revamped - grade level/teacher/theme generic and ink friendly.
The cool thing about this Word template is you only have to enter the date and info on one side and when you print it, the other side automatically populates with all the information. So you save time and paper by only typing once, but printing two per page. All you have to do is highlight the placeholder text and date numbers on the left side of the page and type in the new info. Then, when you click print, or print preview, the right side of the page will fill with the same info. (If you delete the text box... it won't populate the other side, so be sure to just highlight and replace the text and date #'s.) I hand write in the kiddos names and manually circle their behavior then staple the sheet to important papers going home on Friday.

Click to download the Word template.

The document is completely editable. I used Kevin and Amanda fonts PEA MISSY, PEA NOODLES GIRLFRIEND and SMILEY MONSTER. You will want to be sure you have those fonts loaded on your computer before opening the file if you'd like to "see it" the same way it looks on the sample here. But you could certainly change the fonts.

I hope you find it useful.

We've had conferences this week. Everyday has been a minimum day, but I am still exhausted. I feel like a chicken running around with its head cut off! So far conferences have gone well and I've only had one no show. I thought those minimum days would give me a chance to get caught up on a few things, but no such luck. Maybe Thursday and Friday will be a different story! I am hoping to have some new pics and goodies to share with you soon!

Hope you are all having a great week! It's supposed to rain here tomorrow! I cannot believe it.
